Virtual SF financial planning day is coming Fall of 2024

Come to virtual San Francisco Financial Planning Day and get free, objective, no-strings-attached financial advice from CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals. CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals are volunteering to offer free, virtual one-on-one counseling and financial workshops throughout the day. The Main SF Public Library will offer computers for use to sign in and will live stream the programs in the Latino Hispanic Room in the lower level of the SF Main Public Library (100 Larkin Street, SF).

Fundamentals of Investing 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. A review of the building blocks and investment concepts you need to know in order to create a personalized investment plan.

Cash Flow: Improve Savings and Get Out of Debt 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Learn tools and strategies for resolving your outstanding financial obligations and getting a new start by focusing on cash flow. Presented by Smart Money Coaches Roger Chen and Howard Feitel, Jr.. Smart Money Coaching is a flagship program of the Office of Financial Empowerment which is a unit of the Office of the Treasurer and Tax Collector. 

Navigating Changing Senior Care Needs - Avoiding Bumps in the Road 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. It’s hard navigating changes in care needs as we age and our family members age. Join in for panel discussion of how to better prepare for our own changing needs and the needs of those we love. We will share many resources and alert you to bumps in the road. Presenters include staff from California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR), Jewish Family & Children’s Services, Social Worker specializing in ElderCare, and Certified Financial Planning™ Professionals.

Tax Update 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Understand what is happening with taxes now. Presented by Larry Pon, CPA/PFS, CFP™

Saving for College 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. The SF Kindergarten to College program, California’s CalKids and the CA Scholarshare program all offer options for saving for college. Come learn more.
